Privacy Policy

Magnetic readings are processed on your iPhone. The app has no account, advertising, or developer sensor-data server.

Effective September 1, 2026

1. Who is responsible

Metal Detector (the “App”) and getmetaldetector.app (the “Website”) are published by Yurii Koshkin in Spain. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to yurii.o.koshkin@gmail.com.

2. Magnetic and motion sensor data

With your permission, the App reads the iPhone magnetometer through Apple’s motion APIs. It uses those readings in memory to establish a local baseline, show relative magnetic-field changes, calculate recent peaks, and provide optional sound or haptic feedback.

Raw magnetic readings, baselines, scan history, and completed scan values are not saved by the App and are not uploaded to the publisher. The App does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or an account.

3. Information stored on your device

The App stores a small set of settings on your iPhone: onboarding status, preferred unit, sensitivity, sound and haptic choices, whether the free completed scan has been used, and whether a system review request has already been attempted. These values do not contain a magnetic measurement. Removing the App normally removes this local information.

4. Product analytics and advertising

The App uses TelemetryDeck, provided by TelemetryDeck GmbH in Germany, to understand aggregate product use and improve onboarding, calibration, scanning, and the purchase experience. TelemetryDeck receives a hashed installation-scoped identifier, a session identifier, an hour-rounded timestamp, and technical context such as App version, iPhone model, iOS version, language, region, time zone, display information, and accessibility preferences. The SDK may also attach aggregate usage context, such as total sessions, distinct days used, and integer-rounded previous or average session duration. Its automatic session-start and acquisition events and active session-duration tracking are disabled.

The App sends only closed product events and categorical results, such as onboarding progress, sensor availability, calibration outcome, scan start and completion, selected sensitivity and unit, paywall state, review-request attempt, and whether a purchase or restore attempt succeeded, was cancelled, remained pending, was unverified, or failed. It does not send raw or derived magnetic values, baselines, noise, thresholds, peaks, graph or scan history, precise scan timing, prices, currency, transaction identifiers, free-form error text, support messages, email addresses, or anything you type.

We use these signals only for product analytics. They are not linked by us to your identity, are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and are not sold. TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses and hashes identifiers before they reach its service. Learn more in the TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy and Privacy FAQ.

The App contains no advertising, attribution, session replay, remote configuration, or third-party crash-reporting service, and it does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

5. App Store purchases and reviews

Product information, the lifetime purchase, entitlement verification, and restoration are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process Apple Account, payment, transaction, device, and diagnostic information under its Privacy Policy. The publisher does not receive your payment-card details.

After a completed scan, the App may ask Apple to show its standard rating prompt. Apple decides whether the prompt appears. The App does not receive the rating you choose and does not condition access or rewards on a review.

6. Support email

If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. They are used to answer the request, diagnose the issue, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send payment-card details, passwords, Apple Account credentials, or sensitive photographs.

Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, unless law requires a longer period. You may ask us to delete eligible correspondence.

7. Website delivery data

The Website is delivered through OpenAI Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Those providers may process technical request and security information—such as an IP address, browser details, requested URL, timestamp, and diagnostics— to deliver and protect the Website. We do not add advertising trackers, analytics trackers, or marketing cookies to the Website.

See the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

8. Legal bases, transfers, and security

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, support data is processed to answer your request, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests such as service security. App-local data is processed on your device at your direction. The limited TelemetryDeck signals are processed for our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the App through a proportionate, privacy-conscious analytics service. Apple, TelemetryDeck, and Website infrastructure providers may process information outside your country subject to their safeguards. TelemetryDeck states that its analytics infrastructure is hosted in Germany and the Netherlands. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection regarding personal information we hold through support or Website operations. Contact yurii.o.koshkin@gmail.com. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority. Apple controls App Store transaction records and its own data.

10. Changes

This policy may change when the App, Website, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version.
